Talking Points Memo is tracking a robo calling scam in which harassing phone calls are made. When the prospective voter hangs up, the robo dialer calls back. These calls have surfaced in a number of states and have been traced to the National Republican Congressional Committee.

In Kansas, the robo calls have claimed to be from the Democratic candidate, but were actually from the NRCC. Calls mimicking the Democratic candidate have also cropped up in MI.

The NRCC has funded robo calls in at least 53 House races. The FCC is receiving complaints about the frequency and content of the calls.
